Hunter Laing & Co, the family owned Scotch whisky independent bottler, is releasing Scarabus Specially Selected at Feis Ile 2019, the Islay Festival of Music and Whisky.
Scarabus Specially Selected is a non-age-statement single malt Scotch whisky from an unnamed Islay distillery. First drams of the single malt will be available to taste during Feis Ile 2019 at Hunter Laing & Co’s newly opened Ardnahoe distillery.
Bottled at 46% abv, the Scarabus (which means “rocky place” in Nordic) contains symbols on its bottle which are ‘intentionally ambiguous’. The bottle design was inspired by the work of Islay born John Francis Campbell, who, as well as being a Celtic folk-lore authority, invented the sunshine recorder (a device that records the hours of bright sunshine in a day).
Scarabus Specially Selected will be available worldwide from mid-June and it has an RRP in the UK of £38 for a 70cl bottle.
