Reaction: 

Nose: Ripe banana, raisins and vanilla cream, with toffee apple, cocoa, ground coffee, fortified wine and honey. The empty sample bottle smells of Maraschino cherries. 

Taste: Drying and sugary, with raisins, fortified wine, wood smoke, herbal notes and hay. I also get honey, vanilla and soft cinnamon spice. 

Finish: Dried herbs emerge (even potpourri) as wood smoke and sugars from the fortified wine fade, and what remains is the taste of lovely buttery caramels, toasted marshmallows, barley, and faint raisin.
