BenRiach 12 year old Sherry Cask is made up of whiskies that have been aged for at least 12 years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry butts from Jerez in Spain.

Nose: Sweet Pedro Ximenez dominates with its aroma of fragrant sugary raisins. Add to that helpings of chocolate, dashes of ground nutmeg, candied orange, caramel and barley. Mouthwatering, especially for a sweet tooth like me!

Taste: The Oloroso sherry adds a layer of dryness and nuttiness to what is otherwise a deliciously sweet Pedro Ximenez inspired flavour profile with raisins, dark chocolate, flashes of coffee and spice.

Finish: Rum’ n raisin ice cream, chocolate ice cream, vanilla and caramel ice cream, heck why not just throw in tartufo while I’m at it, because now I can taste glazed cherries, chocolate and cream.
