The Kraken is Caribbean rum blended with natural flavours and bottled at 40%abv.
Nose: Loads of caramel and vanilla, burnt sugar, ginger, cola and cinnamon, with hints of coffee.
Taste: Vanilla and cola just about sums up the entry, then comes molasses, warming ginger and wood spices emerge towards the finish.
Finish: Sweetened coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, lingering burnt caramel, and honey glazed cloves (think Christmas ham). The spices fade, and become prickly.
Overall: A very smooth and mellow rum, worthy of being a sipping rum but not out of place as a mixer. At its price, there is nothing negative that can be said about this rum. This rum is sweet, and heavy on the vanilla, cola notes, ginger and cinnamon.

To be honest, I don’t drink rum all too often, but every now and then I enjoy a sip of the Kraken. I really love the design of the bottle and the rum itself is also pretty nice.
