Tasting summary:
Delightful floral notes come rushing in with dried fruit (apricot, dates and fig in particular) and a nuttiness that resembles roasted almonds over cocoa dusted orange sliced soaked in liqueur. The finish follows the sweet theme, with crisp shards of nut praline cracking with the bitterness of their browned caremalisation.
This review is a short one given the small sample tasted. However, it was enough to unpack its flavours and know that this cognac is very likable … though my reaction was no where close to love.
Likes:
Complex with beautiful notes of cognac exclusively from the Borderies.
Dislikes:
A little skewed to the sweet side
Price:
$275 (Aus)
